2008 Practice Schedule
As
soon as the days for Practice are determined in conjunction with MIT, the
calendars below will be filled with open days and times.
Please look over the available times and dates on the calendars below before you send in
your requests. Each time slot will be for one hour.
E-mail only- your requests to
Peter Murray. Requests will be filled on a "first come" basis.
Staff reserve the
right to re-schedule as needed to make efficient use of coaches. Each
team must have persons designated to be trained to steer and drum.
It is strongly recommended that each team have a qualified steersperson
as the Dragon Boat Festival may not have enough additional steerers on hand to
steer for your particular race at race time.
Every team member must attend a minimum of three practices.
If your paddlers, drummer or steers person need extra time or to make up a practice - they can come down any
time we have practices and work in another boat or, if available - get specific coaching
help. Especially your steersperson - if you do not have a qualified steerer you may
not be allowed to race. If you stay for 2 or more consecutive time slots (eg: 6pm-7pm
and 7pm-8pm) then each time slot is counted is a separate practice. Make sure you notify the person taking attendance that you need to be credited for the second practice.
Each team
may schedule a maximum of six practice slots. Please show up 20 minutes in advance of your reservation and
notify the staff your team is ready for check-in. Your team's practice slot begins at the designated time -
not when you all show up. You may request practice times before registering- but may not practice until you
have completed the registration process.

Directions to MIT Pierce Boathouse
NOTE: The Pierce Boathouse is not the yellow boathouse located across from the Hyatt Regency. It is a blue and white boathouse with temporary parking spots in front.
Do not park there. We suggest you park on the westbound side of Memorial Drive or on Vassar St. behind the Hyatt Regency. Alternatively, you may take the
Red Line train to Kendall Square and walk over to the river.
