Over 50 teams raced in the largest festival in Boston Dragon Boat Festival history in 2011. The following is a list of teams who will be participating in the 2012 Boston Dragon Boat Festival. It is not too late to register!

Cambridge Aha Dragons — MA
The Cambridge "Aha" Dragons, lead by Zorangeli Ramos (Psychology Fellow at the Victims of Violence Program), is a team of diverse and vibrant staff, clinicians and trainees from a number of programs in the Department of Psychiatry of the Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA). CHA is committed to provide evidenced-based and culturally competent care to the communities it serves. Self-care is a fundamental aspect of providing quality care to these communities. Events like the Dragon Boat Race not only provide opportunities for self-care but are an excellent way to further morale and team spirit among the diverse divisions of our department.
Deloitte Dragons — MA
Once a year, the legendary Deloitte Dragons are roused from their slumber from deep within the bowels of Chinatown to compete in the Annual Boston Dragon Boat Race Festival. Comprised of the fiercest Accountants, Consultants, and Tax professionals within Massachusetts, the Dragons are hand-picked by the Gods (on a first-come, first-served basis). Following a rigorous, year-long training period that involves countless hours of computer work, ten-key data entry, Dragon Boat maintenance classes, reviews of financial documents, and wood-chopping; each Dragon is trained for two things: 1. Delivering excellent client service and 2. WINNING!!!!
Dragon Boat Club of Boston - Wicked Tuna — MA
The Dragon Boat Club of Boston is a competitive and social dragon boat club. Founded in 2001, the Dragon Boat Club of Boston is the oldest dragon boat club in Boston and completes across the United States and internationally. We are always welcoming new members, regardless of level of experience. Our experienced coaches will get a paddle in your hands and have you paddling in no time. Dragon Divas — MA
Dragon Divas is a group of women from diverse backgrounds who come together to honor the tradition of Dragon Boat racing and to promote physical activity among women. Many of us are new to dragon boat, yet we all share enthusiasm and mutually encourage each other to do our best and have a lot of fun.
Electric Dragons — NY
What started as a small corporate-sponsored recreational team based out of New York City has evolved into a large, highly competitive dragon boat family. The Electric Dragons are comprised of energetic individuals with diverse backgrounds that reflect our hometown. Each year, we continue to expand our horizons and raise our level of competition without losing our focus on having fun. Through hard work, sacrifice, dedication, teamwork, and a deep passion for the sport, the Electric Dragons are committed to not only improve as a team, but to ensure each individual is able to reap the rewards of our success.

For the past two years, The Emerson & BCNC Lions Dragon Boat team has been made up of students, faculty, staff, and alumni representing Emerson College, the nation's only college devoted exclusively to communication and the arts. This year for the first time Emerson is partnering with the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center to enhance our teams's commitment to the tradition of dragon boating, community, diversity, and teamwork! Harvard Dudley Dragon Boat — MA
The Harvard Dudley Dragon Boat Team is comprised of undergraduate and graduate students, fellows, research associates, professors, instructors, employees from Harvard and its affiliates as well as non-Harvard members in the Boston area. Our paddlers represent the disciplines of biology, chemistry, medicine, public health, information technology, economics, and physics. The team was formed in 1999 by members of the Harvard Dudley House intramural crew team and competed in the 1999 Boston Dragon Boat Festival, finishing in 2nd place in the club division. The team has continued to be a competitive force in dragon boating ever since, competing throughout the Northeast region of USA in cities including Boston, Ithaca (NY), Flushing (NY), Pawtucket (RI), and Lowell (MA), Montreal (Canada), Thailand, and China. Houston Heat is Texas' first year-round dragon boat club, comprised of competitive and recreational paddlers training to compete in local, national, and international competitions! We strive to promote the rich cultural history of the sport and to bring community involvement and awareness to our paddlers -- from working with the Lighthouse of Houston's blind paddlers, Blind Fury, to promoting greener waterways through Houston Heat Goes Green -- we aim to have fun while assisting others in the community! South Cove Community Health Center (SCCHC), founded in 1972 by a group of volunteers in Boston Chinatown, had its humble beginning from a storefront on Harrison Avenue. Today we are the premier Asian community health center in Massachusetts serving over 24,000 patients at our three clinics. We are dedicated to improving the health and well being of Asian Americans in Massachusetts with a special focus on the medically underserved. This mission is accomplished by providing high quality, community based health care which is accessible linguistically and culturally competent for these populations. This year marks the 8th consecutive year that SCCHC has participated in the race; we were also a participating team at the 1st Dragon Boat Festival, no figerglass boats back then!

Established in 1976, Tsinghua Alumni Association of The Greater Boston (THAA-Boston) connects more than 1000 alumni graduated from Tsinghua University in Beijing or National Tsinghua University in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Wellness Warriors — MA
The Wellness Warriors Team 1 are a paddling support group for cancer survivors and caregivers. From May through August, our members – men and women of all ages and walks of life – come together for dragon boat paddling on the Charles River between Boston and Cambridge. We share friendship and laughter, build up our strength and stamina and – most of all – HAVE FUN! We welcome survivors of all types of cancer, not just breast cancer.
