The following is a list of teams who participated in the 2011 Boston Dragon Boat Festival. Over 50 teams raced in the largest festival in Boston Dragon Boat Festival history.
ACMES - MIT CSSA — MA
American Chinese Medical Exchange Society (ACMES) is a non-profit organization for medical professionals, founded and operated by leading experts in diverse medical fields and healthcare related areas in both the U.S. and China. The mission of the organization is to promote medical exchanges between USA and China. The primary goal is to utilize established networks of medical experts of different fields in high rank US medical institution and two existing medical publications as platform, organize top quality international educational programs and establish direct access and communication channels for medical exchange, clinical consultation and mutual learning among health care professionals of USA and China, contribute to course of global health promotion. Our dragon boat team sponsored by ACMES is created mostly by students and staffs from MIT CSSA. We are a group of energetic and enthusiastic young professionals with the same belief that having fun while competing and achieving team goals occurs when everyone prepares, practices and plays according to the true spirit of sport.
Bank of America — MA
Team Bank of America will be participating for the first time in the Boston Dragon Boat Festival this year. Co-sponsored by the Bank of America Asian Leadership Network & Bank of America Community Volunteers Recreation Network and trained by Living Root. The Team consists of BOA associates, family and friends.
BouvĂ© Dragon Boaters — MA
We are an all female team composed of students, faculty and staff sponsored by the Bouvé College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University. Though we have been paddling for a short time, we are already a synchronized machine.
Brimmer and May School — MA
Closing in on a decade of participation in the Boston Dragon Boat Festival, the Brimmer and May Gators bring a combination of the energy of youth and the experience of well-seasoned age to the Charles River. Led by Dietrich "D-Train" Pultinas, the third great Pultinas paddler, and Gia "Vamanos" Upchurch, the Gators are aiming for another Youth Division championship. CHOMP! CHOMP! CHOMP! FEAR THE GATOR!
Brimmer and May, a coeducational, college preparatory day school for over 400 students in pre-kindergarten through grade twelve, remains committed to educating thoughtful, wise, and ethical citizens for our country and the world community.
Cambridge Aha Dragons — MA
The Cambridge "Aha" Dragons, lead by Zorangeli Ramos (Psychology Fellow at the Victims of Violence Program), is a team of diverse and vibrant staff, clinicians and trainees from a number of programs in the Department of Psychiatry of the Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA). CHA is committed to provide evidenced-based and culturally competent care to the communities it serves. Self-care is a fundamental aspect of providing quality care to these communities. Events like the Dragon Boat Race not only provide opportunities for self-care but are an excellent way to further morale and team spirit among the diverse divisions of our department.
Catch-22 — NY
Dynamic, competitive, fun, and supportive are the foundational pillars that highlight Catch22's uniqueness as a dragon boat team. Comprised primarily of young professionals within the New York City area, Catch22 seeks to build a team of like-minded athletes. We are driven by the desire to grow and improve as a crew to establish ourselves within the dragon boat community as a force to be reckoned with.

The Dragon Boat Club of Boston is a competitive and social dragon boat club. Founded in 2001, the Dragon Boat Club of Boston is the oldest dragon boat club in Boston and completes across the United States and internationally. We are always welcoming new members, regardless of level of experience. Our experienced coaches will get a paddle in your hands and have you paddling in no time. Deloitte Dragons — MA
Once a year, the legendary Deloitte Dragons are roused from their slumber from deep within the bowels of Chinatown to compete in the Annual Boston Dragon Boat Race Festival. Comprised of the fiercest Accountants, Consultants, and Tax professionals within Massachusetts, the Dragons are hand-picked by the Gods (on a first-come, first-served basis). Following a rigorous, year-long training period that involves countless hours of computer work, ten-key data entry, Dragon Boat maintenance classes, reviews of financial documents, and wood-chopping; each Dragon is trained for two things: 1. Delivering excellent client service and 2. WINNING!!!! Although 2011 is the year of the Rabbit, on Sunday, June 12th the DRAGONS TAKE OVER!!!
Dieselfish — CA
WHO ARE WE? DIESELFISH! WHO ARE WE? DIESELFISH! Established in 1998, DieselFish is one of the most respected dragon boat teams in Northern California. We've paddled away with the gold at prestigious races including the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco International Dragon Boat Festival. We're not content to rest on our laurels, though. The team strives to push its limits and evolve. In 2009, we added a high school team to our growing family. More than a decade since our inception, DieselFish proudly continues to paddle long and strong in our pursuit of the perfect race.

Dragon Divas is a group of women from diverse backgrounds who come together to honor the tradition of Dragon Boat racing and to promote physical activity among women. Many of us are new to dragon boat, yet we all share enthusiasm and mutually encourage each other to do our best and have a lot of fun.

Dragonheart Vermont Green Mountain Girls — VT
We are a group of heart-y women who love paddling together on beautiful Lake Champlain. Though all over 40, we will be forever young because of our joy of paddling together. We began as family, friends, and supporters of Dragonheart Vermont Sisters- a breast cancer survivor team here in Burlington, Vermont. Inspired by the determination and heart of Sisters, it turns out that we love dragon boating as much as they do. We share a joy of dragon boating, sisterhood, and laughter. Our bodies feel stronger, our friendships have multiplied, and our hearts have grown bigger because of Dragonheart.
Dragonheart Vermont Sisters — VT
Dragonheart Vermont is a bread cancer survivor dragon boat team working to send out an inspirational message encouraging all cancer survivors to live life to the fullest after a cancer diagnosis. Started in 2004 by a handful of breast cancer survivors, with a dragon boat borrowed from a Boston team, Dragonheart has grown to a 150 member team of breast cancer survivors and supporters who paddle together for life-affirming exercise and camaraderie. The team paddles weeknights in the summer on Lake Champlain and races in regional, national and international competitions.
Emerson College Lions — MA
The Emerson College Lions Dragon Boat team is made up of students, faculty, staff, and alumni representing the nation's only college devoted exclusively to communication and the arts. In its second appearance at the Boston Dragon Boat Festival, the Lions seek to honor the tradition of dragon boating, while celebrating Emerson's commitment to community, diversity, and teamwork! ROAR!

HOPE IN THE BOAT is the New York Capital Region’s award winning and only Dragon Boat team. Paddled by a group of determined and positive thinking Breast Cancer Survivors, this team started by paddling around picnic tables in 2008, purchased their first boat in 2009, and this year has expanded to include a crew of Friends and Family. Living their mission to celebrate life, promote wellness and provide hope and partnership to those on a breast cancer journey, they can be found happily paddling on the Hudson River.
HPHC - Dragonauts — MA

Our mission is to promote the Dragon Boat Festival in the Northeastern University community. Our goal is to consolidate a competitive Dragon Boat team that represents our university in the different races developed in Boston and New England area. This is the third year we participate in the Boston Dragon Boat Festival and we are very proud of winning the College Division last year.

South Cove Community Health Center (SCCHC), founded in 1972 by a group of volunteers in Boston Chinatown, had its humble beginning from a storefront on Harrison Avenue. Today we are the premier Asian community health center in Massachusetts serving over 24,000 patients at our three clinics. We are dedicated to improving the health and well being of Asian Americans in Massachusetts with a special focus on the medically underserved. This mission is accomplished by providing high quality, community based health care which is accessible linguistically and culturally competent for these populations. This year marks the 8th consecutive year that SCCHC has participated in the race; we were also a participating team at the 1st Dragon Boat Festival, no figerglass boats back then!

For nearly 15 years, State Street Corporation, an industry leader in financial services, has proudly sponsored participation in the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival of Boston. This event helps celebrate both our diversity and support of State Street's commitment to inclusion. Paddlers come from a cross section of both our operations areas (Global Markets, Securities Finance and Information Technology to name a few) and a wide range of cultural backgrounds. This year we are also fielding an all women's team The Golden Dragonets. Support for the Dragon Boat festival is another way we help strengthen working relations and build team work and cultural awareness. Sun Life - Team Crab Rangoonies Never say Die!!! — MA
When you are up against Sun Life keep in mind the famous words of Chad Ochocinco: "Kiss the baby." See you at the finish line!!! Members of the team consist of employees from all walks of life that work at the Sun Life Distributors office in Boston . The Asian American Heritage Association of Sun Life Financial (AAHA of SLF) is one of five Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) at SLF. Each ERG joins together employees representing one of the diverse communities within Sun Life Financial, to exchange ideas and establish a connection between others with similar affinities.

Established in 1976, Tsinghua Alumni Association of The Greater Boston (THAA-Boston) connects more than 1000 alumni graduated from Tsinghua University in Beijing or National Tsinghua University in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Vitasoy USA has deemed a special place for Dragon Boat Racing and is sponsoring The Seadogs Dragon Boat Team. The Seadogs is managed and coached by members that have passion and competitiveness for the sport. Through the visions and guidance of these coaches and leaders, the Seadogs have remained a top 5 New York Team and getting stronger. Through implemented training regiments, we have successfully converted unmotivated ‘couch potatoes’ into strong paddlers with winning spirits. All team members motivate through others and their success builds upon the team and their strive to win. Although structured, the Seadogs team is not without their recreational merits. Team members also participate with other sporting activities such as biking, running, fishing, and other questionable sport activities like Poker and Bar Hopping?
Wellness Warriors — MA
The Wellness Warriors are a paddling support group of cancer survivors, patients and caregivers. From May through August, our members – men and women of all ages and walks of life – come together for dragon boat paddling on the Charles River between Boston and Cambridge. We share friendship and laughter, build up our strength and stamina and – most of all – HAVE FUN! It is such a gift to paddle on the Charles River on a beautiful spring or summer night. We welcome survivors of all types of cancer, not just breast cancer. Together, we are strong and so alive!
